Autism Support

A Provision in Liverpool require additional support on a full-time basis. They are ideally looking for individuals with ASC experience whether this be in a professional or personal capacity. This provision is keen to have successful applicants into school long term!

The school

The school require nurturing individuals who can make a positive impact on the pupils at the school. The perfect applicants should be empathetic, an excellent communicator and compassionate. They should help support the needs of each individual pupil and want to help them to achieve their goals. The school will consider applications from individuals who have previous experience supporting people with SEND, have previous care experience or those willing to do training upon the subject.

The school caters for children aged between 4-16 years old with a broad range of SEN including MLD, PMLD, ASC, Downs Syndrome, SEMH, Physical Disabilities and Sensory Impairments. The school prides themselves on nurturing their pupils and providing a safe, happy, and healthy learning environment in which they can thrive. They celebrate all that their pupils achieve and help, support and challenge them to progress along the journey from school to adulthood.

As an Autism Support Assistant, you will be required to:

  • Support pupils throughout the school day, potentially following individualised timetables.
  • Support pupils across the specialist provision and develop a good rapport with the pupils to ensure positive outcomes are achieved.
  • Incorporate the use of senses into learning.
  • Help pupils to support their speech, language, and communication.
  • Consider the choices, needs, and wishes of each pupil and encourage them to make the right choices for learning.

Long-term roles available

  • Full-time positions (Monday-Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm).
  • Start date: As soon as possible.
  • Required to commit to the school on a long-term basis.
  • Interested in securing a permanent role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
