We believe in person-centered care and provide tailored support that meets each individual's unique needs. We are currently seeking an Autism Support Worker to join our team and make a positive impact in the lives of those with autism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or group support to individuals with autism, helping them to achieve their personal goals.
- Assist with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Support individuals in social activities, educational programs, and community integration.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with service users, their families, and other support professionals.
- Implement and follow individual care plans and behavior support strategies.
- Promote independence and self-advocacy for those with autism.
- Monitor and document progress, behavior changes, and any other relevant information.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for individuals.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or other learning disabilities is desirable but not essential (training will be provided).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with service users.
- Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental attitude.
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors in a calm and positive manner.
- A commitment to promoting the rights, dignity, and independence of individuals with autism.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and evenings if required.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (preferred but not essential).
