SEN Teaching Assistant to support ASC.
Immediate start
FY3
Full-time, Monday-Friday (8:30-3:15)
One of our client schools are looking for an individual to join their team to provide ASC support to a child in a Year 3 class. The Head Teacher would like the ideal candidate to be compassionate, hold excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a strong understanding of ASC and strategies for support.
The school has a dedicated team, committed to providing high-quality support to individuals with ASC, promoting independence, and fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
Role and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop personalized support plans tailored to the specific needs of the student with autism spectrum condition (ASC).
- Implement strategies outlined in the support plan to assist the student in academic, social, and emotional areas. This may include providing visual supports, sensory accommodations, and behavioural interventions.
- Help the student manage sensory sensitivities and regulate their responses to sensory stimuli in the school environment. Create a sensory-friendly workspace and teach coping strategies to help the student stay calm and focused.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
