Position: Art Teacher

Location: Northampton

We are seeking to employ dedicated and professional Art Teachers who are qualified Teachers, to support schools across Northampton on short and long term cover basis’. You will need to have a demonstrable knowledge of art as a curriculum subject, including well known artists, and to be able to use different art techniques skilfully and creatively to an excellent standard to ensure consistency across the board during the absence of the usual class teacher.

Responsibility

  • Teach pre-planned lessons created by the absent classroom teacher to a high quality and in an engaging manner
  • Manage students behaviour, to ensure all students are listening, and engaged to keep consistency during the absent of their usual teacher
  • Liase with other members of staff within the department, and cover managers to pass feedback from students performance to the appropriate person, as well as gaining knowledge from students in the lessons to be taught
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment where students feel free to express themselves and experiment with new ideas.

Requirements

  • Experience of teaching Key Stages, 3, 4 and 5 and have the passion and enthusiasm to deliver the subject.
  • Qualification in Teaching (QTS or equivalent)
  • Qualification in Art or similar field
  • Good understanding of the Art Curriculum
  • An enhanced Child only DBS
  • An overseas Police Clearance (If applicable)
  • Full-time availability (Monday-Friday)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
