Join Our Team as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant for Students with Additional Learning Needs!

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Additional Learning Needs? Teaching Personnel is excited to invite dedicated individuals to apply for a rewarding Teaching Assistant role at one of our partnership schools in Newport.

Position: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Newport
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: Starting at £12.90 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting a pupil with Additional Learning Needs and behavioral challenges within the mainstream classroom. Your primary responsibility will be to provide personalized assistance that fosters a positive and engaging learning experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a pupil on a 1:1 basis, ensuring their engagement and understanding in all classroom activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher and other staff to create a nurturing learning environment.
  • Encourage personal growth and development by fostering a positive, supportive atmosphere.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A resilient and compassionate individual who can navigate challenging behavior with patience and understanding.
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • A Child-only DBS certificate, registered on the Update System.
  • Two professional references covering the past 24 months.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
