1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant 

Location: London Borough of Brent

Start Date: Flexibility on staff date - September 2024 

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are currently working in partnership with a lovely Primary school in Brent who are seeking an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant to join their team, supporting 1:1 a student in year 1

The pupil has a diagnosis of Autism and is a non-verbal learner. Due to his needs, he requires his own timetable and learning structure. 

Assistance in taking the student to the bathroom is required in this role. 

Due to the nature of this role, the school are seeking an exceptional and compassionate teaching assistant who will be able to support the learner and make a positive impact on his learning. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to the pupil 
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other professionals to meet the diverse needs of student
  • Encourage learning and personal development for the student

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in Special Education or related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Makaton or PECS experience highly desirable 
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning environments and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Right to work in the UK 
  • Enhanced child only DBS on the update service (or be willing to obtain)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
