Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-time
Position: Long-term, Ongoing through Teaching Personnel

We are currently recruiting a 1:1 Teaching Assistant on behalf of a lovely primary school with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere. This exciting opportunity is to work with a Year 1 pupil starting in February 2024.

About the Role:
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to a Year 1 pupil, assisting with their academic, emotional, and social development. You will be working closely with the class teacher and the school’s SENCO to ensure that the pupil’s individual needs are met in a nurturing, supportive environment.

This is a long-term role, ongoing from February, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position directly with the school following a successful probation period. You’ll be employed through Teaching Personel for the duration of your contract, with weekly pay and regular opportunities for professional development through our free and Discounted CPD courses. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil, assisting with learning, behaviour, and emotional development.
  • Support classroom activities and work with small groups as needed.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and foster the pupil’s confidence and independence.
  • Maintain clear communication with the school’s staff regarding progress and any concerns.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a primary school setting.
  • A patient, empathetic approach with the ability to build strong relationships with children.
  • A passion for supporting children’s development and helping them reach their full potential.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
