They are dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing educational environment for children who face challenges in mainstream education. We focus on personalized learning and emotional support to help each student reach their full potential.

They are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to join their team. In this role, you will support students on a one-to-one basis within the classroom environment, helping them to engage with their learning and manage their behaviour. The ideal candidate will be adept at building positive relationships with students and skilled in dealing with challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students within the classroom, assisting with academic tasks and emotional regulation.
  • Help implement personalized learning plans and behaviour management strategies.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage their engagement and participation.
  • Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour and promote a positive classroom atmosphere.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and other staff members.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support students' holistic development.
  • Assist with classroom activities and administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, particularly those with additional needs, is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
  • Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to handling challenging situations.
  • A commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child development are advantageous but not essential.

The ideal teaching assistant would be somebody who is extremely compassionate, they would be able to support children who may sometimes display challenging behaviours and have patience to work with children who would need extra support.

It is important that you would be able to create a safe and comfortable environment for the children to be able to learn and break down any barriers they may have originally has with school and learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
