We are looking for 1-1 Teaching Assistants to join us as soon as possible on a full time basis. This will start as a temporary role through our trusted recruitment partner and will become a permanent role.
About the School:
We are a specialised SEMH school providing tailored support to students with diverse needs. We aim to provide our secondary aged pupils with a nurturing and inclusive environment focused on holistic development. Our team of dedicated staff are committed to empowering students and fostering a positive learning experience.
All of our pupils have been excluded from maintsteam school and are aged 11-16 years old. We provide a GCSE curriculum for those able to study up to this level. Our small class sizes enable additional support to help pupils reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support to students with Social, emotional and mental health needs
- Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
- Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to meet the needs of students effectively
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable
- You MUST have a visa to work in the UK (we are not able to offer sponsorship)
- Strong understanding of SEMH and its impact on learning and behavior
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with diverse needs
- Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one
