Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? Do you have the resilience and dedication to make a positive impact on students with complex learning difficulties, communication and/or sensory needs, autism, ADHD and varying health conditions.

The school iscommitted to providing exceptional support for secondary students with special educational needs. Their mission is to foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student can succeed.

-          Full-time role (Monday – Friday).

-          8:30-3:30pm.

-          Secondary (11-16 years).

-          Small class sizes.

-          Wirral.

-          Challenging behaviours.

-          Term-time only.

-          All pupils have an EHCP.

Role and Responsibilities: As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the students' academic and personal development. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN and SEMH challenges.
  • Experience working with children with PMLD.
  • Implementing strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviour.
  • Encouraging a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Supporting students' social, emotional, and mental well-being.
  • Collaborating with teachers to ensure the best outcomes for our students.

The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a dedicated individual who:

  • Is resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Has experience working with secondary students, particularly those with SEN and SEMH needs.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is proactive, flexible, and able to adapt to the unique needs of each student.
  • Is committed to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of young people.

The school are looking for the right candidate to fit in to their team who can show initiative and genuinely care about the welfare of the students. It is important that you can create relationships with the students to get to know their individual needs and ensure that they are receiving the best care possible.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
