Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with challenging behaviour? Do you thrive in a dynamic, supportive environment where your skills can directly impact a child’s educational journey? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

About Us
Our alternative provision school is dedicated to transforming the lives of children who face significant barriers to learning. We pride ourselves on offering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child is valued and supported to reach their potential.

The Role
We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Behaviour Support Specialist to work closely with a child, providing tailored support to help them manage their behaviour, build resilience, and re-engage with education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement bespoke behaviour support strategies in collaboration with teachers and the SENCO.
  • Build trusting relationships with the child to create a safe and positive learning experience.
  • Work proactively to de-escalate challenging situations using appropriate behaviour management techniques.
  • Foster emotional well-being by offering encouragement, understanding, and guidance.
  • Maintain detailed records of progress and contribute to review meetings with parents and professionals.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working with children with challenging behaviour, ideally in an educational or care setting.
  • A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to managing difficult situations.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with children, parents, and staff.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding practices.
  • A female candidate is desirable for this role to meet specific needs, but we welcome applicants of all genders.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in education, child development, psychology, or similar is advantageous but not essential.
  • Training in de-escalation techniques (e.g., Team Teach or MAPA) is highly desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to undergo the process.

Why Join Us?

  • A supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • The chance to make a lasting impact on a young person’s life.
  • A role that is as rewarding as it is challenging.

If you are passionate about helping children overcome obstacles and achieve their potential, we would love to hear from you!
