Gemma's Story

Gemma joined the Future Teachers Programme shortly after graduating. Now in a permanent teaching position, she reflects on how the programme shaped her classroom experience and supported her transition into teacher training and, ultimately, her current role as a teacher.

How Future Teachers works

1. Get in Touch

Register your interest in Future Teachers Programme and get connected to a local consultant to go through some safeguarding checks.

2. Get to Know Your School 

Have a get-to-know you session with a partner school to learn more about them and their work before a formal interview

3. Getting Started

Spend up to one year working as a Teaching Assistant and Cover Manager before getting to plan your own lessons. We will provide you with support, mentoring, and training the whole way,

Your Future

A Future Teachers placement is the perfect preparation for an Initial Teaching Training course. Some of Teaching Personnel’s partner schools offer fully- funded places on PGCE courses for successful Future Teachers. Other schools will assist you in finding a place on a course and look to keep you in the school when you qualify.
