Job description

Teaching Personnel is working with a school in Manchester that works with students who have a statement of special educational needs or an EHCP. They are currently looking for teaching assistants to take on full-time positions and possibly move into permanent positions. The students within the school are aged 11-18 and work with a number of experienced staff to gain valuable skills and qualifications through a personalised curriculum.

Your role within the school will be to support students within lessons with work that they may be completing. You will also work with other staff to promote productive behaviour and help students to stay focused when in class.

For this role you should:

  • Have previous experience working with young people with additional needs
  • Have previous experience working in a school
  • Be comfortable and confident around possibly challenging behaviour
  • Be available full-time

The school is located next to stops with regular public transport links. It is also easily accessible by car. The role will be full-time, and you will be expected to work the full hours within the school which will be 8:30 – 16:00.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
