Join Our Team as a Primary Teaching Assistant!

Location: NP26
Start Date: January 2025
Hours: Full-Time, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Pay: Starting at £12.90 per hour

Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives? Teaching Personnel is looking for a committed and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in NP26 this January. Whether you’ve worked in a school setting or gained experience with children in other environments, we’d love to hear from you!

What We're Looking For:
While previous experience in a school setting is ideal, we also welcome applicants with transferable skills from roles such as:

  • Playschemes
  • Sports Coaching
  • Nurseries
  • Residential Homes
  • Support Worker or Care Assistant positions

If you’ve supported adults in care settings or worked with children in other ways, your skills are invaluable and could be the perfect fit for this role.


Your Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour
  • Supervising and assisting with group activities, such as reading, writing, and numeracy
  • Providing social and emotional support where needed
  • Preparing classrooms and organizing resources for lessons
  • Encouraging pupil participation and fostering engagement in class activities
  • Building trusting relationships with pupils, tailored to their individual needs

  • Builds strong relationships with both pupils and staff
  • Manages groups effectively and handles challenging behaviours with confidence
  • Has experience supporting children in any setting
  • Demonstrates active listening and strong verbal communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
