Senior learning Support Practitioner
Location: Minehead, Somerset
Hourly Rate: £13.05 - £13.46
Annual Salary: £25,113.42 - £26,268.06 (FTE £27,144.00 - £28,392.00)
Hours: 40 hours per week – Term time plus additional days and training (42 weeks per year)
Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to work with a large SEN College based in Minehead. The school are looking for a passionate Senior Learning support practitioner to join there dedicated team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, support and guide, under the support and guidance of the House Team Leader/Deputy House Team Leader, all Student Support Practitioners (LSPs) on your shift.
- Carry out the same duties as an LSP, but you will have additional responsibilities in Health and Safety. All of this will be with the support and guidance of the House Team Leader/ Deputy House Team Leader.

- Be in charge of a shift of workers and will take responsibility for the smooth running of the service whilst they are on duty. You will respond to emergencies and provide guidance and support to LSPs under the support and guidance of the House Team Leader/Deputy House Team Leader. You will also participate in staff induction programmes as and when required.
- Take responsibility during your shift for any issues that may arise and take the appropriate action.
- Have high expectations of all students, and to constantly challenge and stretch each student at every opportunity.
Successful candidate qualities:
- Experience in a similar role desirable but training can be provided for the right candidate
- Experience in supporting in the care or education industry
- Desirable an understanding of working with people with a disability
- Level 2 in English and Maths
- Level 3 relevant qualification in either education or care

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
