SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Cambridgeshire/Hertfordshire border
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (£20,941.63 - £22,834.95 actual salary) depending on experience and qualifications
Hours: Full time - 40 hrs per week, Mon - Fri. Term time only
Teaching Personnel have an exciting opportunity to work with a large SEN school based in Cambridgeshire. They are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate SEN Teaching assistant to join there team. The school is a specialist independent day school supporting children and young people aged 6-19 with a range of Moderate Learning Difficulties and Specific Learning Disability needs including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD and associated difficulties, who require an individualised, specialist approach.
Role responsibilities:
- Be crucial in supporting students with their learning, development and progress in all areas of the curriculum within a range of learning contexts including the classroom, the local environment and within the community
- Help young people with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions and autism to achieve their educational and personal goals
- Support an environment that fosters equality, diversity and the rights of all young people to be seen as learners and be treated with respect
- Develop a greater understanding of Special Education issues; the values of Aurora and demonstrate these in all aspects of the role
- The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines

- Capable of having a vision to see potential rather than disability
- Committed fully to our safeguarding values and procedures
- Able to understand and deliver effective education and support in line with identified needs
- Educated to at least level 2 (or equivalent) Maths and English

The school is based in Royston, can be located off Rookery lane. Parking will be available on site.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
