Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) - SEMH Support
Location: Poulton-le-Fylde
Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Salary: £12.90-£13.50 per hour, dependent on experience
Start Date: January 2025

Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Poulton-le-Fylde. This role focuses on working with children who experience Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, providing vital support in small group settings.

About the Role

- Small Group Focus: Work closely with small groups of pupils, tailoring support to their specific needs.

- Positive Behaviour Support: Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

- Collaboration: Partner with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

- Tailored Interventions: Deliver targeted interventions to support both academic progress and personal development.

- Flexibility: Adapt to the varying needs of pupils, maintaining patience and positivity.

What We Are Looking For

- Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role within a SEN or SEMH setting is highly desirable.

- Empathy: A compassionate and understanding nature to support children with diverse needs. 

- Resilience: The ability to handle challenging situations with confidence and professionalism. 

- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise effectively with pupils, staff, and parents.

- Qualifications: Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent are preferred but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
