Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Guildford, Surrey
Contract Type: Temp, Temp to Perm, Perm
Start Date:January 2025
Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will support pupils with additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, SLD, SLCN etc. Your contributions will be vital in helping our students reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students during lessons, ensuring their learning needs are met.
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to progress reviews.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop effective strategies for learning and behaviour management.
- Support students during personal care routines as needed.
- Encourage independence and self-esteem in all pupils through appropriate activities and interactions.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special needs preferable but not essential (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification).
- Experience working with children and young people or adults with additional needs is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to the changing needs of the classroom.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
