Job description

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? Do you have experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Secondary SEN Tutor to join our team in Harlow. You will provide tailored, one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, helping them achieve their full potential academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalised learning plans tailored to the needs of students with ASD and ADHD.
  • Support students across secondary-level subjects, particularly core subjects (English, Maths, and Science).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that builds confidence and independence.
  • Use creative teaching strategies to engage and motivate students.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to monitor progress and adjust teaching approaches as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with ASD and ADHD, ideally within a secondary school or tutoring setting.
  • A strong understanding of SEN strategies and techniques to support diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport with students and inspire them to achieve their best.
  • Flexibility, patience, and resilience.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Teaching or tutoring qualifications (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
  • Relevant SEN training or certifications.
  • A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
