Maths Intervention Specialist – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and skilled Maths Intervention Specialist to support students at an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time role is set to start in January and will run until the end of the academic year, offering the potential for a permanent position based on performance. The role provides a competitive weekly pay of £419.25 - £500, depending on experience.

About the Role

As a Maths Intervention Specialist, you will work closely with students to enhance their understanding and confidence in mathematics. This role focuses on delivering targeted support to students who require additional help to meet their academic potential in maths.

Key Responsibilities

  • Targeted Interventions: Work with small groups or one-to-one sessions to provide tailored support in mathematics, addressing gaps in knowledge and reinforcing key concepts.
  • Collaborating with Staff: Partner with subject teachers and department leads to identify students needing extra support and plan effective intervention strategies.
  • Tracking Progress: Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Encouraging Engagement: Foster a positive and supportive learning environment to inspire confidence and motivation in students struggling with maths.
  • Adaptable Teaching Methods: Use a variety of teaching techniques to accommodate different learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students can succeed.
  • Exam Preparation: Help students build the skills and knowledge necessary for success in their upcoming assessments and exams.
  • Building Relationships: Develop supportive and trusting relationships with students, encouraging them to overcome challenges and excel in their studies.
  • Classroom Assistance: Support teachers during maths lessons to enhance the overall learning experience for all students.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Subject Expertise: Strong knowledge of mathematics, ideally with a degree in maths or a related subject.
  • Experience in Education: Previous experience working in a school or education setting, particularly in a support or intervention role, is highly desirable.
  • Effective Communication: Strong communication skills to explain complex mathematical concepts clearly and engage students effectively.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to plan, deliver, and assess tailored intervention sessions.
  • Passion for Teaching: A genuine interest in helping students succeed in mathematics and a proactive approach to overcoming learning barriers.
  • Resilience and Patience: A calm and supportive attitude to work effectively with students who may find maths particularly challenging.

Role Details

  • Start Date: January
  • Contract: Full-time, term-time only, until the end of the academic year
  • Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week
  • Location: Levenshulme

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
