Teaching Personnel is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position beginning in January and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to be made permanent based on performance.
About the Role:
As a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students and teaching staff to support the delivery of the Maths curriculum. This role is ideal for a recent Maths graduate looking to gain experience in a secondary school environment and considering a future career in teaching or education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students individually or in small groups, helping them to understand mathematical concepts and improve their confidence in the subject.
- Assist teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to a variety of learning needs.
- Provide targeted interventions for students who require additional support, including those preparing for GCSEs or other assessments.
- Monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers to inform tailored support strategies.
- Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to engage with Maths.
- Support classroom management, ensuring lessons run smoothly and students remain focused.
- Contribute to the preparation of learning materials and resources to enhance students’ understanding.

What We’re Looking For:
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and accessible way.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm for Maths and a commitment to helping students succeed.
- Be patient, adaptable, and proactive in meeting the needs of individual learners.
- Have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Be available full-time from January through to the end of the academic year.
Previous experience working with young people, whether in an educational or voluntary capacity, is desirable but not essential. Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided.
