Have you got experience of supporting children with needs?
Are you looking to support one-to-one outside of mainstream schools?
This English and Maths tutor role will be ideal if you have previous experience of teaching, teaching assistant, SEN one-to-one or tutoring and are looking for flexible work.
The role of a tutor involves:
- Working with children with Special Education Needs who need to provide face to face support to children with SEN at their homes, care homes or a local area e.g., library which can be agreed with the parents/ carers.
- Planning resources around the child’s needs, this could be on developing their knowledge in English and Maths.
- Skills and experience on keeping the child engaged with task and ensuring they can access the learning.
What we are looking for in and English and Maths tutor:
- SEN experience (as teaching assistant, one-to-one or any other)
- Able to plan and deliver engaging, nurturing sessions.
- Applying skills to raise pupils’ confidence and learning.
- Experience with working with children with challenging behaviour.
- Someone who is resilient and compassionate
- Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide feedback.
To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.
Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.
Working hours are between Monday to Friday, 09:00 -16:00 approximately.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
