Job Advert: Teaching Assistant - Chelmsford

Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Position Type: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate start available

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join our team in Chelmsford, Essex. The ideal candidates will have a passion for supporting children’s learning and development, with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and supporting classroom activities.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support for students who may need extra help with their learning.
  • Help students with their academic progress, personal development, and social skills.
  • Support the creation of a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development of learning materials and resources.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience working in a school or educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Personal experience of working with children (e.g., in childcare, tutoring, or volunteering) or transferrable skills from other fields.
  • A strong desire to support children’s education and personal growth.
  • Minimum GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.

Requirements:

  • Right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
  • A valid child-only DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
  • Ability to adapt to different educational settings and the needs of diverse learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
