Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEN Tutor

Location: East of England, Essex, Chelmsford

Job Type: Temporary, Part-Time

Primary Industry: Education and Training

Salary: £20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Deliver high-quality English and Maths tutoring to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Create individualised lesson plans to cater to the specific learning requirements of each student
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Provide regular feedback to students and their parents/guardians on academic performance
  • Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Specialist knowledge in teaching English and Maths to students with SEN
  • Experience working with Key Stage 3 students

Education:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in teaching English and Maths to students with SEN

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies and methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching techniques to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Proficiency in creating engaging and effective lesson plans

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in SEN teaching or related areas
  • Experience in using assistive technology in the classroom

Working Conditions:

  • Part-time hours with flexibility in scheduling
  • Work primarily in an educational setting (local library, school or learners home)
  • Potential for remote tutoring sessions

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
