Job description

Job Title: English and Maths KS3 SEN Tutor

Location:

East of England, Essex, Basildon

Job Type:

Temporary, Part-Time hours

£20 - £30 Per hour

Job Duties:

  • Provide tailored English and Maths tuition to Key Stage 3 students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Develop and implement individualised learning plans to support students' academic progress
  • Assess students' abilities and adapt teaching methods to meet their specific needs
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing regular feedback to parents and relevant stakeholders
  • Collaborate with school staff and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student support

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 English and Maths curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in teaching or tutoring
  • Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs
  • Experience using assistive technology in teaching
  • Training in behaviour management techniques

Working Conditions:

  • Part-Time hours, flexible schedule
  • Work in a one-to-one setting, at the pupils home
  • Collaborative work environment with school staff and external professionals

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
