Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Job description
This special needs school offers full time special education, care and therapeutic support to vulnerable children and young people with Education and Healthcare Plans. The school is welcoming and working with a neurodiverse population of children aged between 11-16 with a primary diagnosis of autism or a SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) profile.
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), your main responsibilities and duties will include:
- Supporting the teaching and learning process
- Provide care and supervision of pupils within the classroom, within the school and outside of the school
- Maintain a clean, safe and tidy learning environment
- Covering lessons in Art, PSHE and other subjects when required
- Work as a Teaching Assistant when required
- Support with positive behaviour management
Essential requirements
- GCSE Maths and English A-C
- Experience of working with young people with special needs (SEND)
- Experience delivering lessons
- Playful and energetic approach to learning
- Ability to use ICT, Word and Excel
- Experience contributing to the assessments and monitoring of pupil progress

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
