Cover Supervisors for flexible cover work in Secondary Schools from January 2025

  • Job Type: Flexible, Part or Full Time (minimum 3 days per week)
  • Pay: £90 - £110 (flexible depending on travel)
  • Location: Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire (MK1 - MK18)
  • Start: January 2025 - ongoing flexible and contract work available

The Role: Cover Supervisor's provide cover across Year 7 - Year 11 pupils across various lessons in the school. You would cover any subject across the year groups and Schools will play to your strengths (e.g. Maths Graduate, mostly cover Maths lessons). This is a great opportunity for a Graduate or professional considering a career in Teaching and would like the classroom experience, with the chance to work in a long-term contract for one school, or the flexibility to work across various Secondary schools in Milton Keynes.

What is a Cover Supervisor?

✓ Supervising and managing the behaviour of students during lessons.
✓ Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans to maintain continuity in learning.
✓ Providing support to students in their learning activities.
✓ Managing classroom resources and ensuring a safe learning environment.
✓ Reporting back to teaching staff on student progress and any issues arising during the day.

Requirements: 

✓ Graduate with Degree qualification (or undertaking)
✓ Confident approach working with Secondary Age Pupils (age 11 - 16 years)
✓ Semi-comfortable with creative subjects such as Art, Design or Food Technology
✓ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
✓ Ability to engage and inspire students.
✓ Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
✓ Previous experience in a similar role or working with young people is essential.
