Job description

Are you a compassionate and skilled teaching assistant with experience support children with additional needs? We are recruiting dedicated Primary Teaching Assistants to support children with EHCPs in a 1:1 capacity at primary schools across Stockport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work 1:1 with children with EHCPs, delivering tailored support to meet their specific needs.
  • Assist the child with both learning activities and behavioral guidance in line with their EHCP.
  • Foster a nurturing, inclusive environment that encourages social and academic growth.
  • Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher, SENCo, and other staff to implement effective strategies.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback, adapting support as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH, or other additional needs in a primary setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of EHCPs and experience in implementing tailored learning strategies.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (Level 2 or above preferred).
  • Teamwork-oriented with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Full time availability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
