Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Location:

Yorkshire and the Humber, West Yorkshire, Leeds

Job Type:

Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours

£90 - £100 Per day

Job Duties:

  • Provide 1:1 support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a classroom setting
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs
  • Support the classroom teacher in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Help students with their learning and personal care needs as required
  • Monitor and record student progress, and report back to the teacher
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to support student development

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Relevant experience working with children with SEN
  • Understanding of the UK education system and SEN practises
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Knowledge of different SEN conditions and strategies to support student learning
  • Experience in implementing educational plans and strategies
  • Ability to adapt to the individual needs of students
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Additional training in supporting students with specific SEN requirements
  • First Aid certification

Working Conditions:

  • Work primarily takes place within a classroom environment
  • May involve providing personal care assistance to students
  • Potential for occasional off-site visits or activities
  • Full-time hours, following the school term calendar

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
